shanmonster: (Don't just sing it--bring it!)
Yesterday, I noticed the hem of my jacket was damp and smelled a bit like vinegar. And when I got to class, the CDs in my bookbag were a bit sticky.

Today, I checked out my bookbag and found something horrific.

Back in my Tim Horton's days of two or more weeks ago, I had taken a banana for my lunch. A banana which had never been eaten. A banana which had turned into something both juicy and maleficent. Although my CDs weren't damaged, my gaming notebook is all damp in the corners and smells strongly of ick.

I'm transcribing my notes, because that's just how geeky I am. If you're not familiar with the Vampire RPGs, don't bother reading the following. It just won't make any sense to you....

Margd has gone from neonate know-nothing to sage Kindred elder. She's about five hundred years old, at this point (this point being the year 1680). She's in a dangerous place (as always): She's bloodbound to Vlad Tsepes. She's in the last Sabbat city, and the Camarilla are closing in. She's safeguarding the last Cappadocian, and everyone found out about it and is closing in on us because everyone wants a piece of her. A mysterious stranger with unknown motives intercepts messages supposed to be delivered to the Prince of the city, and gives it to Margd, instead. And Margd is also in possession of a very dangerous bit of literature (she's been recording everything): a history/genealogy of Kindred society, complete with bits on the downfall of Constantinople, the diablerie of various Methuselahs, the survival of clan founders otherwise believed to be deceased, how Dracula came to be embraced (and also what he's like in the sack...), her eyewitness report on the death of Michael and his Dream, how Saulot created the Baali, etcetera, etcetera, etc.

And now for a few links:

Jessica Joslin: Rather steam-punky chimeras.

Betty Beauty: Is your betty ready? Colour for the hair down there.

Priapus Shrugged: Did you know that one of the two ways of adding girth to a penis is with cadaver skin? Mmm! Yummy (thanks, Ike P.)!

What will they think of next?

A zombie dick? It would be an improvement for some guys -- maybe they'd start getting excited about a woman's brains. *snerk*

G-d help me if I have nothing better to do than contemplate my pubic hair! :)

Coming late to the party, but what are the notes from? I friended you after seeing something SarcasimHime's page (whom I friended after noting a very awesome CoH costume she wore at Dragoncon[which I had to miss as my wife couldn't get the weekend off work]), so I'm curious as to the context of the "vampire notes". I'm a gamer nerd myself, having run a few campaigns over the years, the latest being an attempt to run Vampire: Bloodlines the PC game as a table top campaign (which would have worked if our Tremere didn't keep getting called in at 8pm to work.)

Welcome!

They're notes from a Vampire: Dark Ages campaign I've been playing for about four or five months. I've never played the computer game. I'm much more keen on the personal interaction, but not so keen on LARP. I guess I'm just an old-school geek.

I also game really late at night. We often don't get started until about midnight, and finish up around daybreak.

I'm hoping that now that I no longer work nights, we can get an earlier start (and finish) to our Friday-night sessions.

Ahh... yes... vampire by candle light....

The PC game is good, and the storyline mostly immersive, but it is at it's heart a First Person Shooter game. I'd much rather play RPG's tabletop with friends anyday of the week. Hard part is finding 3-5 people our age in our area with flexible schedules enough to play semi-regularly. The best we have a DnD campaign which meets monthly with every third month skipped due to schedule conflicts.

Ah, yes. And you live just a bit too far to join our campaign.

Until I moved to Ontario, I hadn't played in a Vampire game for about four years. I was jonesing really badly....

The only question I have is, how is she still alive? There's enough knowledge there to have entire *clans* after her!

Oh wait. They are. Best of luck, must go now, see you if you survive!

Correction, that's "alive" (and I'm logged in now).

I left a banana in a bookbag too, and it got squashed and was one of the grossest things to that date. I took all the things out of the bag, hid it in a closet someplace, and stole one of my brother's bags for school.

Think maybe your nemesis had something to do with the
squishy banana?

I am *all* about the cadaver skin.
