shanmonster: (Dance Monkey Dance!)
Here I am, sitting at my mostly refurbished computer listening to Skinny Puppy (Rabies: one of my all-time favourite albums) on my portable stereo because CDs still don't play on my computer. It's better this way, anyhow. My stereo has some seriously bitchin' sound, whereas my computer speakers are lacking. I might be dancing at Dark Side in Toronto next week, so I'm sifting through my Puppy collection for something that makes me want to dance. So far, it all makes me want to dance, which is good, because over the last few days, I haven't wanted to do anything but lie in bed and convalesce.

My toothache comes and goes. It's gone right now, and I have a dental appointment on Wednesday which will hopefully keep it gone. I'm tired of having a hole the size of my skull in my rear top molar (wrap your head around (inside?) that image). The other day, I dug a raspberry seed out of it. I hadn't had raspberry anything in about two weeks.

Not. Good.

My headache the other night was a case of plate tectonics in action. I swear, it felt like continental drift, with one plate of pain riding up and over the other in the middle of my forehead, resulting in a burgeoning mountain range of excruciation all along my left temple and the side of my face. I've never had a headache like that before, and don't want another. Now, it's just a low-grade sinus headache. Stupid winter plagues.... At least the megrims have been leaving me be for months!

I have no intention of leaving the house today. Instead, I'm going to be a good little housefrau and do chores, sewing, and music selection with the help of Tasselhoff, the obese kitty. And let the Puppy wash over and through me.

I'd like to do a bit more experimentation with my costuming, this time recycling old computer parts. If you have a busted-up hard drive, I'd like the hard disc(s) from it. I can do stuff like this with 'em.

Oooh! "Worlock" is on. It's one of my favourite songs EVER. Please excuse me while I get my groove on....

Rabies: excellent album. But I will always have a soft spot for Bites and Remission, I got those on cassette when they first came out and actually wore out the tapes listening to them...

For me, it's Last Rights. Although maybe not for dancing.

How do you know it was a raspberry seed? Maybe it was an
egg left behind by a parasitic alien.
