shanmonster: (For goodness sakes. I've got the....)
How can such a work-filled day feel so lazy? I've spent the morning working on my tribal belt. It's going smoothly. I'm amazed at how much easier sewing with leather is when I have an actual leather needle. It's no more difficult than handsewing cotton. Actually, the sewing I did with the cotton was more problematic. I finished sewing all the bezel-set cabochons onto my handwoven cotton, and it was a bit of a bitch. The holes I drilled into the silver were getting crowded with cotton yarn, and I managed to break two needles in my struggles. Wow.

It's all looking good, though.

I've made some design changes, too. Instead of using the cuttle-cast strips as borders, I'm going to centre them on a leather backdrop. They look much better that way. Now, I just have to figure out the best way to attach them. I suspect I may be doing some soldering. I didn't want to solder anything on the strips, but I think they'll look best if I attach jump rings and then sew them on. Ah well. I have all day tomorrow to work in the studio.

Well, maybe not all day. I have yet to start my large drawing which is due on Monday. I hope I'll be able to do it today. I think I'll draw my sewing machine. That should be suitably elaborate.

All morning, I've been listening to the music I'll be performing to tonight. It's getting nice and wedged into my head. I really like a few of the songs, and these are the ones that get stuck in my head. I think my favourite is "Progress," but I also like "Introduction," "Girl," and "Queen." You can listen to "Girl" at the Freaky Scene website. I think it's one of our best performance pieces, because the three of us interact the most during this song.

And that bit that looks like a mutant fox-trot and tnago-starting-in-a-funny-place what is it? I never could count slows/quicks. *sigh*

Dunno. It's no dance move I've ever studied. I know it's a dance reference, but I was actually quoting from a song by the Golden Palominos with Nicole Black (I think that's her name). The album is "Dead Inside," and it's shiveringly beautiful.
