I think my headache/toothache has finally decided to leave me as of yesterday afternoon. It still hurts, but is no longer the excruciation I've experienced over the last week. I've been basically good for nothing for all this time, and spent the first part of yesterday playing The Sims. My Sim is now married with two sons: Kole and Malicus (named for characters in my Dark Ages Vampire campaign).
I ought to be embarrassed....
Here are some more links for your edutainment:
Just Add Hampsterdance: This image made me snort out loud when I first saw it (thanks,
gha5t).
Killer Cat: Some cats are big game hunters.
click! click! bang! bang!: Lovely travel photography of Dubai, Korea, Cambodia, New York, etc (thanks,
lickthefrog).
Oops: Do not drive your expensive car 250 km/h and then hit a chicken.
A wounded woman fights for survival in storage unit: A story about a woman who just wouldn't give up. Reads like the synopsis for a movie thriller.
Family seeks pardon for last convicted witch: "The granddaughter of Britain’s last convicted witch has launched a fresh campaign to gain a posthumous pardon for Helen Duncan, jailed at the height of World War Two as a threat to the nation."
Nobel Prize win linked to longer lifespan: "Scientists who have won a Nobel Prize live nearly two years longer than those who have only been nominated, suggesting that social status confers 'health-giving magic,' British researchers say."
Reward Offered in Sodomy of Puppy in Newark: This story is messed-up for two big reasons. The first is that someone raped a puppy. The second is that an ambulance was dispatched to rescue the injured dog. While I'm glad that someone helped the puppy, I can't help but wonder why an ambulance was sent for this pup and not for any of the millions of egregiously suffering animals in abattoirs? What makes this puppy's fate any more important than that of a cow left with broken legs overnight because it's quitting time and slaughterhouse workers pack up to go home? The moral inconsistency boggles me.
