Damn. I got some wrong. That's what I get for not reading the Good Book in a decade and a half or so. Still, 93% ain't too shabby. I guess two decades of brainwashing indoctrination really does stick in one's head...
My trip to Toronto wasn't entirely uneventful. I was attacked by a pigeon. It nearly knocked my head off, and then it jumped on my foot, flapping its demonic wings in some sort of attempt to undermine me. Either that, or it was just an idiot pigeon. Whilst battling said flying wizard of Satan, I glanced around me in abject longsufferance, and caught the eye of a nearby man. He witnessed my quandary, looked at me, and we shared a moment.
I guess it's not every day you witness someone being accosted by a pigeon, but he seemed to sympathize....
And then there was the dancing. Oof.
I don't know what it looked like, but my dance performance last night felt pretty craptacular. I guess all the stress of the past couple of weeks piled on top of the lack of regular exercise over the past month added up to mediocrity. I managed a few staggered kneeling backbends to and from the floor, but ultimately, my floorwork felt like the flopping of a weakened, landed fish.
The other dancers, however, were very good. I particularly enjoyed Rosanna's performance. Her dancing is excellent from both a technical and stage presence perspective. I also enjoyed Valizan's Romanian folk dance (I think that's what it was!). It was all spins, stomps, and eloquent flourishes. And damn, but he was certainly shiny....
Many thanks go out to
redlyra for giving me crash space after the show.
And
zoe_serious? I patted
redlyra's cat, and the first thing I thought was, "This cat is almost as soft as your coat!" For those of you not in the know,
zoe_serious has the world's most fabulous coat, and I'm not kidding. This is the holy grail of coats. The Shangri La of coats. It is the Platonic Coat.
I must not covet, but I do....
I get up early again tomorrow morning to return to Toronto (I almost typed Halifax. Huh.). This time, I'm taking a dance teachers' workshop with Yasmina Ramzy. Then, I think I'll give Toronto a rest for at least a few days.
gha5t is moving up this weekend, too.
Craziness, I tell you!
Now, I must be off to bed. I'm veryveryvery tired.

And you were not hideous not floppy like a fish. I'll post the video I took of only your floorwork to youtube and then let you decide if you want to keep it up since the file will be too big to send :)
