I danced for about six hours on Saturday. It started with bhangra and hiphop in the morning, then progressed to ATS for a few hours in the afternoon with ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
sarcasm_hime and Valizan (photos here). Then I went to Safiya and Brock's place for a hafla, and danced my arse off some more with Khafifis and a whole wack of local dancers. I ended up doing a quick zaar session, which has left me with well-worked neck muscles. I haven't done zaar in a long time. I also got silly (surprise, surprise), and invented a few weirdo dances, including robot zaar and the charleston chicken.
My obliques and neck muscles are still sore.
safadancer and Jas demonstrated a little bit of acroyoga to me. How exciting! I want to do that! I've already been doing something tenuously similar with f00dave for years and years, but this takes it so far beyond anything we've ever done. I wish there were classes nearby.
I really want to work more on ATS. Who wants to practice with me?

...But although he can appreciate Margot's need to retain her humanity, he doesn't entirely share the same philosophy. To him, the end justifies the means. He sees the need to accumulate more wealth in order to help finance the takeover of McMaster university. Unknown to Margot, Magnus tries to create a ghoul for himself: an Italian bootlegger/mobster by the name of Rocco Perri. With the advent of Prohibition in the USA, Rocco Perri had become a rich and powerful man.
To Magnus's surprise, Perri has already been ghouled by members of the Sabbat. His interference compromises Perri, who is subsequently assassinated in 1944. This is effectively the killing stroke of the Sabbat's hold on the city, and Hamilton becomes Camarilla.
This brings the enterprising Magnus to the attention of Prince Sanders.
Margot has not forgotten Magnus's mortal wishes to continue in his theological studies. She builds their haven deep inside the McMaster Divinity College. When the medical research facilities and hospital have been developed on the campus, hunting is no longer a serious consideration. Vitae is easy to come by with the blood banks at the hospital, and Magnus's responsibilities to Margot diminish. With this sudden jump in free time, Magnus finds it much easier to follow his own interests, and he begins to tinker in the stock market.
Much to Margot's delight, he takes an interest in both Kindred history and the occult (while losing his initial interests in theology). Through the course of her reminiscing, he is astonished to learn just how very old she is. Although he takes a small, wry amusement at her anachronisms, he is awed by learning she witnessed the Crusades, the Inquisitions, the forming of the Camarilla, and the fall of Constantinople. That she lived through these momentous events is testament to her intelligence and resourcefulness, so he listens carefully that he may gather her survival skills for himself.
He also learns a fair amount about Kupala, although he doesn't understand the relevance of Kupala to today's modern living. To him, these studies are no more than interesting trivia.
Not understanding the relevance of all this mythology and folklore, he turns his focus more to modern interests. By 1990, he is independently wealthy through his travails in the stock market. He owns a tastefully decorated penthouse apartment and a nice car. He wears name brand clothing. He buys all the new gadgets, like cell phones, computers, CD players, etcetera.
And he continues to serve Margot, maintaining her holdings while keeping prying eyes from falling on her.

Physiologically these are women and they are indredibly horny and looking for relief. We're still animals after all! I remember 14 and 15 and it was a pretty heady period for me as well. The day dreams of having sex were so prevelant that I literally could not think of anything but sex.
