Yesterday was a good day. I got my cardio in with a cycling class, then did some pole dancing and did not suck. I was able to do all of the spins, many even one-handed. This was a first. For the past few weeks, I'm lucky if I can do the spin at all, and needed both hands. Last night, I had the momentum mostly figured out, and realized the second hand is quite superfluous, if the alignment is correct. And I was even able to do pole dancer-style chin-ups. Not well, mind you, but my feet were leaving the floor with no hopping being involved. I may get competent at this, yet.
Afterwards, I went to the Glenn Love show at the Renn. It was very sparsely populated at first, but by the time the performance began, the crowd had picked up. I really enjoyed the set, and danced around like a fool. My new shoes, although cute enough, really aren't the best for dancing, so I ended up doing an industrial sock hop. So the folks around me dancing were wearing big, clompy, shit-kicking boots, and there I was dancing in my stockings. I'm not sure what that says....
Glenn's music is very solid, and he seems to be a really sweet guy. If he's playing in your neck of the woods, be sure to check him out!
Apparently next month, another industrial group shall be doing a show. This is supposed to be a lot messier (think Skinny Puppy or Gwar for stage theatrics). I'm not sure how well this will go over in such an intimate venue, but we shall see. I'm just afraid it'll be something like my Fredericton performance with Freaky Scene in which we went all out, smashing the fuck out of old computers, stomping around, all with me doing a zaar freak-out, all for an audience of maybe seven or eight people. We gave it our all, but really, that's pretty depressing.
In the meantime, I've had an invitation to dance in Montréal this summer at a show hosted by
robotics_girl featuring Sashi. I'd like to go, but am afraid the trip and workshop will be too expensive. I need a fundraiser! Does my dance education count as a charitable institution? I think it ought to. Heh....

gha5t).
Morgana's Animal Magnetism: Another martial arts/belly dance fusion artist.
300: A sexually challenging movie-going experience: An entertaining review of an abtastic flick.
Peanut Butter, The Atheist's Nightmare!: A ludicrous video which "proves" why evolution is wrong.
Drug-free therapy 'fights asthma': Someone sign me up (thanks,

Wolf Perfect: A Vampire LARP character generator. It looks like I may be playing in a LARP. Gasp!
In case you give a shit, my character concept is this: Moriah Grinder--Malkavian (big surprise) messenger/intelligence agent. Her derangement is body dysmorphia. She is a teensy and gorgeous woman, but believes she is both hideous and monstrous in size. As a result, she looks with intense distrust on anyone who is physically attracted to her. She also overestimates her strength, and wears too-large clothing. I still don't have a back story for her, as I'm unsure of the game setting. I think the concept is quite playable, and hope I get the chance to bring her to (un)life.
