shanmonster: (Spasmolytic)
At the last gaming session, Elisabet, or the Hyde to Margd's Jekyll, emerged for the first time in about 200 years. I'd like to have her stick around a little, as she's a refreshing change from the goody-goodyness of Margd. At the same time, I want to investigate her character further. She's been pretty much a two-dimensional stock villain all along, and I believe there should be more to her than that.

In the last gaming session, she kidnapped the guy, and within five minutes, used dementation to off a pesky ghoul. Magnus was pretty freaked out to begin with, but now he's almost hysterical.

Today, while I was getting my hair done (an experience which took four hours), I did a lot of meditating on her character. And when I got home, I typed up a letter which she shall pen to Magnus, Margd's childe. Please excuse the purple prose. Elisabet can be rather melodramatic.

Dearest Magnus:

Allow me to introduce myself. Our relationship is a somewhat complicated one. To simplify matters, your sire is Margot, who is in turn the creation of my child Margd. This makes you my great grandson, but you may call me Granny.

I have been watching you very closely. Long before you ever suspected my existence, I've been scrutinizing yours. I have watched you since you were a mercy-killer, a deserter, and a would-be priest. I have watched you pit lover against lover. And I have watched with great interest as you used your natural manipulative and empathic abilities to advance within Kindred society.

I believe you are capable of greatness, but first you must progress in your education. The first lesson you must learn is to give respect where respect is due.

Now don't get me wrong. I detest your sire. The very thought of being with her has made me cause myself grievous injuries in protestation. But no matter. Loath as I am to admit it, she is deserving of your respect. She saw that inner quality which makes you so very special, and she embraced you. If nothing else, she has a keen sense of prophecy and foresight, and has survived for many centuries when many considered stronger did not. She is your sire, and you've treated her as badly as she has treated me. This is something which will surely come back to haunt you until you either make your peace or turn her to ash.

I do not recommend the latter alternative. Her punishment is none of your concern, but of mine. If you harm her, I will have no choice but to hunt you down and give you such delicious torments that your story will become an object lesson for generations to come. You do not want to risk my displeasure. I do terrible things when I'm cheery. Imagine how much more devilish they become as my mood worsens.

The next lesson you must learn is to refuse respect to those undeserving of it. This transcends both Sabbat and Camarilla, or kindred and kine. To ally yourself to one cause while denigrating the others without careful examination is the action of a fool. Believe me when I say all sides are replete with fools. Examine each individual meticulously. If they are incompetent, either cut yourself off from them or discover how best they may be used. As a recommendation, fools make excellent cannon fodder.

One more lesson you must learn deals once again with your heritage. You are a child of Malkav and must remove the blinders which hide your true nature from yourself. Fighting against the blessing of your ancestry will only do you harm.

Learn from your sire's mistakes. Just as you have been doing, she strives to deny the blessing of Malkav. She doesn't recognize the shortsightedness of this useless toiling, this task of Sisyphus. She harms herself, her cause, her family, and she wastes valuable time. If she embraced her madness as she embraced you, perhaps her relationship with both you and me would be less tempestuous. And perhaps she'd have progressed further in her quest for Golconda and in her attempts to curtail the incipient Gehenna.

I know the way in which Malkav has blessed you. You, however, do not seem to share that knowledge. It is your responsibility to discover that secret talent, that sacred blessing, and to immerse yourself in it. First you must recognize it. Then you must embrace it, breathe it, drink it, eat it, fuck it, and be it. From therein shall you win your salvation.

None of the lessons I wish to teach you are pleasant, but they must be endured. Listen to what I have to say, apply the principles, and your existence will be the better for it. Ignore me and suffer the consequences.

Love,
Granny

Any questions? I have over 100 pages of gaming notes from which to draw. I remain, as always, a huge nerd.
