Alexandrian dance is something I know pretty much nothing about. However, this clip, The Mountaineers Dance, makes me very interested in the men's aspect of the dance. I love the strength-intensive squats, dips, and kicks, and am a little sad that the women aren't exhibiting the same athleticism.

These pieces are actually MUCH more athletic for the women than most Georgian dances. The most common are hte very gloaty, look like they're on skates sort of thing.

I believe this may be the Rustavi Ensemble, one of the great Georgian troupes. I got a chance to see them live several times. Amazing.

Yeah, Armenian dance is pretty much the same; floaty feet with graceful waving arms. The footwork here was surprisingly jiggy.

Of course *I* was looking at the costumes...*lol*
