So tomorrow I have a dance performance in Toronto. Y'all should come see. I'm reprising my Quebec performance with floorwork and poi, and if all goes well, I'll be wearing my brand spanking new black, white, and red costume. This is all pretty last-minute, hence the lack of prior warning. I'll be performing at The Rivoli for the Eros, Thanatos, and the Avant Garde dance series. The doors open at 7:30, tickets are ten lousy bucks, and the more people who come, the greater the chance that my pay will equal the cost of my transportation to and from Toronto. Help me break even, and see some excellent performances while you're at it!
And now for some links.
Appetite for excess: More like an appetite for destruction. Restaurant critic Giles Coren dines like Prince Edward for one full week, yet manages to survive. It's supersize me, Edwardian style.
A Petition to Ban Swords in the UK: I'm sure this will be of particular interest to British sword dancers and martial artists.
Grl, 13, is tp txtr: "Morgan Pozgar says she sends about 260 texts a day - about one every five minutes - to her friends" (thanks, Benoit).
Farid Al Atrach's Habina Habina: I like this song, but enjoy the video for entirely different reasons. This is hysterical!
The scariest X-ray you will see all day: Chair through the eye, anyone?
Indian Thriller: It's Michael Jackson's "Thriller," Bollywood-style.
I continue to progress at pole dancing. Last night, I did a really good chin-up on the pole. Go me! And I also realized I am now able to do all of the exercises/spins, when I could barely do one or two at my very first class. Not only that, but I can do the movements gracefully. I'm still working at corresponding facial expressions. Right now, I either look grunty from the effort, or I'm making a huge, kooky grin when I realize I'm doing a move properly. I've got to cultivate the serene....
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a bunch of sewing to finish so I'm not all nekkid at tomorrow's show.
More sewing shall transpire on Sunday with a stitch n' bitch with
