Me: Hello?
Telemarketer: Hello! We are putting together a fundraiser in September for Downs Syndrome. You've heard of Downs Syndrome?
Me: Yes.
Telemarketer: The show is called Hidden Treasures, because that's what we often call children with Downs Syndrome. The show will feature a wide variety of talent--like a circus without the animals. The proceeds will go to support people with Downs Syndrome within the community. Can we count on your support?
Me: Sure. What length of performance are you looking for?
Telemarketer: *blink blink* We are looking for either sponsorship for children to attend, or for you to purchase tickets to the event.
Me: Money is one thing I cannot give. Talent is one thing I can. I am a professional dancer.
Telemarketer: Oh. Well, I'll pass this on, then. Thank you.
Me: You're welcome.
Link time!
Workers are told to shape up or pay up: This is right up there with employees getting fired for smoking, keeping blogs, or drinking Pepsi when they work for Coke. Blargh!
ATC – Alternative Technique Classes: Dance/performance workshops in Toronto. I'm considering the Ways of Combining Movement with Spoken Story class. It looks interesting.
When Gamers Have Babies: Cute (thanks,
gha5t)!
Russia's Arctic exploration demands response, Ottawa urged: Talk about a Cold War!
Kung fu did not kill me. In fact, I think I made significant progress today. At long last, I think I've figured out trapping. Partner stretches afterwards were a little humbling, though, both for me and for the others. My legs reach a lot higher than anyone else's, but more importantly, they're not reaching nearly as high as they used to. Damn.
In other news, I'm experimenting with wearing contact lenses on a daily basis. I haven't done this for over a decade, but my glasses are so shitty that it seems pointless to wear them. I'm considering getting laser surgery, as it's less expensive than getting new glasses, plus should be far cheaper in the long run.
Can anyone make some recommendations of good places to go in Kitchener-Waterloo or Toronto?

When Gamers Have Babies: Arthur has a T-shirt just like that! ^_^
