Putting Some Swing on my Back Porch

It's official. I'll be teaching a drop-in floorwork class on Thursday nights starting in October. Classes are $10 each, and run from 6-7. I'll also continue teaching my regular drop-in belly dance classes on Monday nights from 6-7.

Because hardly anyone knows what floorwork is, I had to come up with a spiffy class title: Core on the Floor.

"Get into shape and spice up your dancing with some serious core-strengthening floor moves. You will work your abs, back, legs, and butt while improving flexibility, balance, and fluidity of movement."

Here's hoping people give it a shot! I'm looking forward to teaching floorwork again.

schwartzung asked me if I'd dance for his band's shows, so I hope to jam with them soon. I miss dancing to live music! The Drums and Machines experience shall live again under another guise and with a different music genre: one for which I feel a stronger affinity.

Now, what sort of costume can I wear where the floors are likely to be filthy with beer residue? Hmm....

I was up too late last night, and up too early this morning. I felt like an utter zombie at the costume shop today, and was afraid of how my dance class would fare. However, dance class seems to be the Red Bull of activities, and now I'm wired.

I am a madwoman. I'm looking forward to camping in November while wearing elf ears. What kind of dork am I? An entertained one!

Instead of thinking about the costume on beery floor, how about unrolling a rug or dropcloth you can then do floorwork upon?
