Last night's performance went well, and went over well, too.
You can see some pictures I took here. If anyone caught any photos/video of my performance, 'fess up, because I'd like to see, too!
Oh, one little side note. While I was getting ready for the show, several dancers were complimenting me on my costume. One of them really liked it and asked me where I got it. When I told her I'd made it myself, she said, "Oh! You'd never guess it wasn't store-bought!"
... I know she meant it as a compliment, and I took it as one, but isn't it sad how some people don't understand the value of hand-crafted work?
....
I'd hoped to catch the bus home right after the show, but the show ran longer than anticipated, and I got stuck taking the last bus home. Again. Argh.
I read the entirety of
warrenellis's Crooked Little Vein: A Novel while riding on or waiting for buses. It's a quick read, and it seems so very much like something I ought to have written, with my brazen familiarity with the seedier sides of the internet. I think I caught every single reference made in the book. Yikes.
Links? Ok.
The Mind-Booty Problem: "This is the reality of sex with minors: The ages of the parties vary widely from case to case. For more than a century, states and countries have been raising and standardizing the legal age of consent. Horny teenagers are being thrown in with pedophiles. The point of this crackdown was to lock up perverts and protect incompetent minors. But the rationales and the numbers don't match up. The age of majority and the age of competence are coming apart."
Nora, the Piano-Playing Cat: She even does duets!
Google 'to test rival to Second Life': "Google is thought to be set to trial an online virtual universe based on its popular satellite imagery software that would rival Second Life" (thanks,
warrenellis).
