shanmonster: (On the stairs)
I learned at a tender age not to take candy from strangers. Why would I take a drink from a stranger? Especially considering how numerous people I've met in this city have had experience with doped drinks?

So if you meet a girl you've never seen before at a bar and think she's the cat's pyjamas, don't go buy a drink and bring it to her. Don't insist she drink it. If you really want to get her a drink, order it in front of her when she's at the bar, where she can see nothing was slipped into it. And if she says "No, thank you," stop pushing the issue. If she's got any brains in her head at all, saying, "I don't got AIDS or nothing" to her isn't going to improve her chances of drinking it.

My sore neck took me off to see Ken the wonder RMT yesterday. My neck is still sore, but at least I can move it around a lot more, now. I attempted a chair dance class, but the head turns in the choreography thwarted me. I skipped kung fu because the partner exercises worry me, in my current state. But I did end up going dancing at Club Abstract (where I very rarely go) with Sara and [livejournal.com profile] schwartzung, and worked out even more kinks.

Tonight, I'm off to Toronto to practice with 8 Digital, and perhaps to get more interviews done of the band members. I've been working on getting material for the band website. Hmm. I think I should drag along my behemoth of a laptop. I type faster than I write. I guess there's an upcoming photo shoot, too. Good. It will prove our ability to get everyone together in one space. It's quite the trick considering the band members are spread out over three cities.

[livejournal.com profile] f00dave made me a delicious supper of steamed salmon, rice, and salad with chocolate fondue and ice wine for dessert. He did good. Mmmm.

Researchers show leaky muscle cells lead to fatigue: " The new study shows that the fatigue that marathoners and other extreme athletes feel at the end of a race is caused by a tiny leak inside their muscles that probably also saps the energy from patients with heart failure."

'Flesh-eating' amphibians filmed: "The team recorded footage of a female worm-like amphibian, called a caecilian, allowing her young to peel off and eat her skin."

The Most Spoiled Girl in the World?: This actually offends me, a rare occurrence indeed.

What's going to happen to that girl when she gets to be too old for beauty pageants and/or slips on the ice and knocks out her teeth? She'll have no idea how to cook, clean, read maps, budget, or anything else she'll need to do. What happens when her parents pass away? She'll be all alone in the world and unable to function.
