Drifter arrested after cow assaulted: A couple of things in this man-fucks-a-cow story make me raise an eyebrow. For one, "Police call it a cowardly act against Sedala the cow." I fail to see how this is a cowardly act, unless the word was used strictly in a punning sense. No, it's certainly not heroic (more heroic would be if he'd chosen instead to be fucked by a bull), but cowardly? I don't get it. Secondly, I take issues with this statement: "Sedala isn't due for two months and is now recovering from the ordeal." Recovering? For goodness sake, veterinarians regularly shove their entire arms up cows' wazoos! Unless this man was hung like a sperm whale, why would the cow need to recover? Honestly. People anthropomorphize far too much. I doubt the cow gave a shit. On second thought, I'll bet the cow did give a shit--all over the front of its rapist.

Tanks roll into Tikrit: This story disturbs me for two reasons. First of all, "Demonstrators risk a year in jail and, if they work for the state as civil servants or teachers, they will loose their jobs." Loose their jobs? Oh my. Reuters doesn't proofread anymore, I guess, before unleashing its tales to the world. Secondly, the message of the article is distressing. Although Saddam was a right and total bastard, how much better is it to fire upon someone who chooses to kiss a photo of him? I'm thinking of pots and kettles, here.

I also have a question, and maybe you can answer it. Is Saddam Hussein considered a prisoner of war? If not, why not? If so, is the US military shitting all over the Geneva Convention by posting videos of him in captivity? Enquiring minds want to know.

They care about the Geneva Convention when it's in their best interests to do so. For instance, when American soldiers were taken prisoner by the Iraqis and put on tv, they were quite miffed.

Very interesting....

Really? America is so terrible? Frankly I wish we would butt out of world affairs. Let the dictators in Africa slaughter their people. Let the genocide in the Balkans continue... Europe (and the UN) certainly didn't give a shit about those people. Resolutions aren't worth the paper their composed on. You can't "guilt" an evil person into feelings of remorse.

I'd love to see the loans (http://go-all.com?go=loans) and donations from my country (the taxes that I pay) that are now going to other countries help the sick, the homeless, and the needy in MY country. I'm for kicking the bastards out of this country that piss on the flag at the same time accepting benefits, loans (http://0-2u.com?go=loans) and subsidies.

If you are an American, and you proclaim yourself to be a socialist, this is no place for you. We are into capitalism here... Europe and all it's brilliance awaits. I'm sure their governments are smooth running machines with a shining moral compass...just ignore the anti-semitism, incompetence, and unemployment.

If you are not an American... fuck off!

You were trolled, successfully. The article was obviously auto-posted in response to a google-search, restricted to LJ, for certain keywords. The giveaway was the fact that both links were on "loans", and to a spam site. Go check....

You were tricked! TRICKED! But at least you could use your response (or chunks of it) elsewhere...?

Yeah, honey-bunches-of-oats, you were trolled, too. ;-)

Who is declaring themselves socialist?

Your apology for posting anonymously cannot be taken seriously, I'm afraid.

The U.S. has become an empire of thugs, (http://www.lewrockwell.com/rockwell/cincinnati-beating.html) or haven't you been watching?
When a government becomes powerful it is destructive, extravagant and violent; it is an usurer which takes bread from innocent mouths and deprives honorable men of their substance, for votes with which to perpetuate itself."

I have noticed, despite not ever watching the news. My last visit across the border was extremely unpleasant, and left me wanting not to repeat the experience. I'm not sure if I'll ever go back to the US. It's a scary place.

I agree.

And I was born and raised here. Sometimes I'm afraid I've been over-infected by this country...

1) Very amusing point. It is tacky and retarded how we stack animals along the same emotional barometers as humans.

3)Good point. Never thought about that before. Yet anothe reason to hate Bush and the war
