shanmonster: (Lost in a velvet morass)
Ok, so how about we take a gander at some black and white photos I took? There is no theme, this time, because my last themes were too forced, and I had no cohesive idea in mind when the pictures were taken.

As always, commentary/critique is welcomed!

The stacked fruit one is really striking. I like it!

That's one of my favourites, so far. I'd been eyeing that display for a few months before I finally made it into the grocery store with my camera.

I wholeheartedly concur with [livejournal.com profile] montecristo's assessment!

The close up of f00's shirt is way cool. It starts moving if I watch it for a bit.

It's NOT my shirt!!! It's *hers* and I only wore it for the duration of the (second half of the) shoot in question.

Like I'd be caught dead wearing something with *style*. PHSAW!

I like the fork, and the thing with the circles and the letters (012.jpg) though I've no idea what it is...

That's a closeup of a shirt f00 was wearing.

That's not fear, that's your desire of writing yourself into a slash scene with function_aught in The Renaissance Agency!

Hmmmm, one or more of Pertho's personalities is gay? Better be careful f00. [livejournal.com profile] morganaus wrote slash featuring him and she and [livejournal.com profile] classytart have been suffering for it ever since!

I'm curious as to why he's biting... that embroidered couch?

Date: 2004-01-09 03:24 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] shanmonster.livejournal.com
That's no couch; that's my leg!

Date: 2004-01-09 03:31 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] prolixfootle.livejournal.com
The madness. The Madness! It comes upon him every fortnight, and he yammers and caterwauls, gnashes his teeth and chews that furniture like some feral beast in the throes of rabidity (embroidery seems to be his arch nemesis during these episodes)! He must be kept, locked away until the madness passes, lest he injure himself or others!

I fear that it becomes worse with each passing episode...

It's Shan's leg. She has embroidered pants. And as to why, well, it was a spur of the moment thing...

The biting or the embroidery? *grin*

I think it was posted in a collection of her shots I'd done on my journal. Yep, that's the one. Shan is a budding photographer, and a good one, at that! (Now, if I can only get her to stop using the autofocus...)

Auto Focus

Focus will develop over time. good subject selection, lighting and point of view let those continue to florish.
She will learn the power of FOCUS!

and the picture with the hair was nice

fork 'n apples!

Love the fork shot, not exactly sure why. The background is really interesting, reminds me of something like an old marble tabletop, something like that. And the fruit shot is outstanding! at first I thought the thumbnail was a shot of an orchid or some sort of flower, so when I opened up the full size it was gorgeous. cheers!

This one (http://www.shanmonster.com/gallery/art/012.jpg) is my favorite. It loosk very experimental. What is it? I also like the simplicity and suggestions involved iwth this one (http://www.shanmonster.com/gallery/art/014.jpg). I like how the scratched service looks somewhat like the knicks of a fork. The apples have great patterns and I like how the similar objects are changed just slightlyin perspective. This one (http://www.shanmonster.com/gallery/art/011.jpg) looks almost like something you would see in the inlay card of a CD. Hmm, maybe just the music I listen to ;).
