shanmonster: (For goodness sakes. I've got the....)

School was a total drudge, today. I was doing my interminable sanding and polishing and soldering. I thought it would never end, so I made myself a false ending. I closed up shop for a few moments to mosey on over to a computer and check out one or two sites. I hadn't been to Neil Gaiman's page in a while, so it was one of the first I perused.

Then, all of a sudden, without any warning, I saw it:

There are gorgeous Escher snakes in motion at http://www.etereaestudios.com/docs_html/snakes_htm/snakes_movie_index.htm (via the ever-impressive Shanmonster).

Qui? Moi?

My dreary, work-infested day was suddenly sparked with a queer little moment of pride. One of my favourite authors reads my website! Or he does occasionally. Or maybe just the once. But still! He calls me ever-impressive, despite not ever having seen me do something extraordinary, like do a standing backbend with one of my chinchillas balanced atop my head!

As you know, I link to hordes of webpages. (So does Neil.) And every now and then, should I check back to one of those sites, I see expressions of ecstatic glee that the mighty ShanMonster has linked to that person's lowly journal. Yes, The ShanMonster--she whose website that person has been reading since they were in junior high school!

Right this very moment, I'm partaking in such silly, happy behaviour. It can't be helped! Like I said, he's one of my favourite authors. So Neil, if you're reading, you could pretend for a moment that I'm William Shakespeare, an author I presume you admire.

"Did my heart love till now? forswear it, sight! For I ne'er saw true beauty till Neil's site. / What a swell guy!"

Ok, so I'm no bard, and Billy Shake-a-spear is long-dead. Maybe Neil prefers more contemporary authors, like Danielle Steel? Heh heh....

Thanks, Neil. Your tossed crumbs gave me a cheesy grin for the rest of my monotonous workday.

No, I'll have made it big when my books outsell his. In the meantime, I must content myself with my loyal, steady readership.

You can have my autograph if you like, but why?

Eh, you know, just beating the rush. I figure any day now you'll get famous, and, well...

You're almost there already!

I almost had a heart attack when the producer of the cartoon I wrote my website on linked to my page on his prolific site, saying I knew more about the cartoon than he did. *lol* If Neil Gaimen ever noticed any work I ever did, I think I *would* faint dead away.

[fangirl] Wow. He's like my all-time favorite author ever ever ever!!11!! [/fangirl]

Don't mean to say this...

But, I'm pretty sure it's Danielle Steel not Steele, as I was once a huge fan of her novels.
