The pigeons are very demanding, and [livejournal.com profile] f00dave is spoiling them rotten. Sometimes, they peck at the glass to beg for seed. f00 gives them food constantly. He even wakes them up at night to give them a late-night snack, for which they are very grateful. Scroffy and Ms. Lemmiwinks must be the best-fed pigeons in all of Fredericton.

Today, after finishing his breakfast, Scroffy stared in at me through my bedroom window. He paced back and forth, begging for more, and then he leaped into the air and tried to fly through the window. There was a distinct thud as feathers met glass, and he bounced back onto the window ledge, staring in with googly orange eyes. He has f00 well-trained, because the food was delivered posthaste.

Now the birds are quite sated and are busy grooming themselves, fanning their feathers and plucking at untidy bits of down. I expect they'll start singing to me, soon. They always do.

Ms. Lemmiwinks is a wonderful name. Sounds perfectly prissy :)

She seems a total priss. The name comes from the (mis)adventuring gerbil of South Park fame.

What does their singing sound like? A string of coos?

Yes, sometimes. And sometimes they trill, sometimes they make growling noises, and other times they sound like a car that can't quite start.
