Rita and Friends

I think it's about time to break out some of the new old pictures I've dredged up. These are mostly pictures of a dancer named Rita, Nita, Rosita, or Annette. She seemed to go by all of them. She was labelled "Argentine's Foremost Dancer" and performed with the revue Spanish Dreams featuring Hurtado's Royal Marimba Orchestra. The other photos are of her dancing colleagues. She seemed to know a lot of performers.

A nude Rita holds a Frankart statue of a nude woman in her hand. This photo dates from the 1920s.

And another! She was a hot tamale, for sure.

One last one, this time, garishly coloured. I wonder if these are really the colours of her dress. I like sepia, better.

I find these photos very unusual! They depict what appears to be a ballet featuring a dominatrix ballerina in the 1940s. I wish I knew more about them.
