I've been getting private one-on-one physical training since last week. I have one more session, and then I'm beginning CrossFit. Last week, I did a whole wack of squats, rowing, pull-ups, sit-ups, and push-ups. I like squats. They're some of my favourite style of exercise. Today, I did a lot of push presses in a variety of positions, from standing to clean and press into squats or split squats. I also did a heap of running, rope jumping, and ring dips. Holy hell, but ring dips are hard. I can't do them unassisted yet, but need a big resistance band under one knee to help me along, and even then, it's rough. I expect to have nice, sore deltoids tomorrow.
On Wednesday, I have my last session with Lars. We'll be working on deadlifts, and I'm not sure what else.
Considering I've never had my technique analyzed before, I've been doing well. Although I've never done power lifts before, I have a good intuitive grasp of the body mechanics and alignment necessary. The technique portion of my sessions has been going quickly, because I have been catching on right away. Go me! Now to get my strength up so I'm lifting something worth boasting about. Heheheh....
I'm used to looking and feeling fit and strong, but when I go to CrossFit, I am a scrawny wimp in comparison to the other people there. I am excited about levelling up.
In other news, I have voice training tonight, for the first time. I hope the instructor is good, and I get some good exercises from my session.
