Check out my bathroom! Aaaaaugh!

A year or so ago, I had serious issues with my bathroom ceiling. A repair team of dubious qualifications came and replaced the ceiling. I asked them if they'd figured out why water kept leaking through, and they said not to worry, that it was fixed. I remained skeptical, since they had done nothing to any of the plumbing between floors.
Today I got back from class and was sitting in my room when I thought I heard water dripping. I walked over to the bathroom and the hall carpet squelched beneath my feet. The paint on the walls was bubbling, and the ceiling sagging and dripping ominously.
So I called the repair guys, and now they're fixing it all. The pipe has been replaced. It was so badly corroded that the repair guy's fingers were going through it as he was taking it out.
The walls are being replaced. The tub is to be resurfaced. The taps and faucet in the tub are being replaced. I might even end up with new flooring.
The hideous, soggy carpet is being torn up as I type, and a parquet floor being revealed.
Why did they cover up the hardwood floor? It looks decent.
So yeah. That's the state of my apartment on voting day. Hmm...
