Hi. I haven't been here in a while. Time to fix that.
I've been been excruciatingly busy. I'm taking classical voice lessons, and am starting up with musical theory again. I'm doing much better with it than I thought, because I haven't forgotten nearly as much as I was afraid I had. I look forward to being able to sight read music again. Right now, I'm sounding melodies out slowly, kinda like learning to sight read words the Sesame Street way.
I've also been continuing with my china painting class. My painting style in this is surprising me. It's completely different from any other paintings/drawings I've done in the past. I'm currently working on a teapot. It's not done yet, but here's where it stands after about two months of work:

I've been doing a LOT of physical training. I've participated in plenty of dance workshops: butoh, contemporary, contact improvisation, and fixed-point trapeze. Trapeze hurts. The first day, it hurt far more than it was fun or rewarding. So much weight suspended from tendons in my knees, elbows, and hip flexors sucks. But by the second day, I began to find the joy in it, and I went from hanging painfully to flying. Still, all the upside down spinning while also whirling makes for long-lasting nausea, and I needed a full day of rest to get rid of the queasiness. I'm starting aerial silks lessons soon.
I made a hesitant return to Ashtanga yoga, and it kicked my ass but good. I'm hoping to continue with it weekly. The trouble has been finding the time. I need to clone myself. Seriously.
I made a return to kung fu with wing chun training. Oh, I've missed martial arts so much. It's good to be back. I'm rusty as hell, but not everything has left, and the rust is gradually sloughing off.
I joined a running group. I am a shitty runner. I always have been a shitty runner, but I'll be damned if I always will be. My first day out running with the group, I ran a mile without needing to slow down or stop. Considering it had been a year or so since I last ran a mile, I surprised myself. And I think I could have run more, but we were out of time.
CrossFit continues, at high gear. I train there five or six days a week, with two of those days being at my own pace, rather than at the hyperkinetic-holy-fuck speed and intensity of the WODs (Workouts of the Day). I am getting MUCH stronger. Yesterday, on one of my slow days, I managed to do 80-lb overhead squats. And this past week, I took part in this:
Oh yes. I look different now. Very different. And not just from the added muscle mass.
Here's why:

And what have you been up to?
