Well, gotta say, this Whole30 thing made a difference. I've lost 7.6 lbs and gained lean muscle mass all while eating like a ravenous beast and training like a crazy person.

For comparison purposes, you can check out the photos/measurements I did in mid-June.

Weight: 135.2 lbs
Body fat: 15.2%

Neck: 13"
Chest: 36"
Waist: 27.5"
Hips: 36.75"
Left bicep: 10.5"
Right bicep: 10.5"
Left thigh: 21.5"
Right thigh: 21.5"
Left calf: 14"
Right calf: 14"

I lost 7.6 lbs. I didn't even know I had that much to lose, and am still unsure where it came from. Perhaps it was fat inside my abdominal cavity? Either way, I also gained muscle mass, so booyeah!

I didn't notice any differences in my health, sleep, or energy, but those were all good beforehand, anyhow. My asthma crops up a little bit here and there as usual, and I still had a couple instances of stomach upset (as I have had all my life).

I've enjoyed the foods I've been eating, and plan on continuing primarily with this lifestyle, although I will not stress it if the paleo foods are unavailable while I'm out. I'll just continue to make the best/tastiest food choices I can. I'll also let myself have pie or whatever once a week or so, because damnit, I like pie. ;)

I keep seeing references to W30, but haven't checked it out yet. Obviously, it supports a fair amount of ass-kicking, as you're evidence of. :-)

I was honestly surprised at the difference it made in terms of muscle definition. It's not like I ate crap food beforehand, so I expect that if someone eats a lot of processed foods and sweets, this will make a profound difference.

my vice, such as it is, is a small brownie or couple of squares of dark chocolate. otherwise, i try to eat as little bagged/boxed stuff as possible (steamed veggies, grilled meats i marinade and season myself, salad, tea... )

... the big divergence there is my workout supplementation, which i'm not sure how i'd adapt, given my continued strength-development plans and whatnot.

That's fantastic! Congratulations. I get so happy when other people have a great experience on a Whole30!

I'm trying to figure out if I wanna do a Whole30 this month. Since the only thing I'd have to cut would be alcohol, I figure I have until this evening to decide. =D

Today I had my first intentional non-Whole30 food: beef sausage meat that contains beer for seasoning. It didn't taste any better than the non-beery sausage meat I've been eating. Tasty, though.

Gonna have wine on the weekend, though....
