Are you familiar with the word daedal? It's a great little word which basically means "ingenious, complex, or rich." It comes from the Latin daedalus ("cunningly wrought"), which in turn comes from the Greek daidalos ("skillful, cunningly created"). In mythology, Daedalus was the inventor who built the Labyrinth (to house the Minotaur), and he also constructed the wax wings for himself and his kid, Icarus. You know what happened to Icarus.

Not quite so many people know what else Daedalus invented.

Daedalus worked for King Minos, the ruler of Crete. Minos's wife Pasiphae was truly, deeply, and most madly in love with a bull. Pasiphae ordered Daedalus to make her a cow suit. It worked wonderfully. The bull did diddle the queen, who did all the deed all in her daedal suit.

[Don't have a cow, Mom!]
