shanmonster: (Don't just sing it--bring it!)
I'm shedding pounds like I'm on some sort of diet. I suppose I am. It's the Craft School diet. Start by having a couple of dozen pounds of carefully cultivated muscle, then go to school so intensely that weight-training and intense cardio go by the wayside. Cut to about four months later, and the pounds will have melted off.

At the beginning of the summer, I weighed 154 pounds. As of today, I weigh 136.5.

And I still have a little bit of a poochy belly!

Feh!

Suckitude

After doing my BOTC, I put on about 30 lbs or so - much of it muscle, mind you. However, the minute I stopped the daily routine, it quickly turned into fat. Boo-urns to that. Or so I thought.

Once I'd put on a little weight, I'd never, ever got cold any more. I've always been particularly warm-blooded, but with this added insulation, I was just laughing. T-shirts until November, and jackets only once I had to start scraping off my car each morning. Even then, it was mostly so my clothes wouldn't get all snowy (and thus later, wet).

But since I've started running, the weight is melting off. I'm down to a svelte 160 and dropping. So why does this suck? I'm *always* getting cold! Me! I never, ever used to get cold! And now, all the time! In fact, I'm tempted to start eating butter to regain those lost pounds. Apparently, those walruses are onto something.

I don't tend to get cold. Well, my hands and feet are usually icy, but the rest of me is usually too warm. I'm the one wearing little crop tops in January, and I've never been pudgy.

My muscles just seem to evaporate without turning into fat. Feh.

I've often wondered if my constant high temperatures are possibly the result of my Innu heritage. It just wouldn't do to be an easily-frozen Eskimo, would it?
